Vegas Bumble and Bumble Casting

March 29, 2016

Las Vegas Bumble and Bumble is casting hair models for a Sephora styling event.

Bumble and bumble is hosting a large scale event with Sephora in Las Vegas on May 3rd, and are casting female models to showcase the latest trends in dry-styling.

Vegas Bumble and Bumble Casting

Girls that have shoulder length or longer hair, to showcase Bumble-specific styles and the latest in fashion hair trends.

This would be a trade service, and compensate each model with Bumble and bumble products (along with a complimentary style) in exchange for their time. Submit:

Female with at least shoulder length, thick/medium/fine textured hair to receive editorial style (solely a style- no cut or color). Models must have straight or wavy hair. No tight, kinky curls please.

In full disclosure, I have done these types of shows in my early 20’s. You will likely spend the day hanging out with a group of cool ladies, make new friends, take away product that you wouldn’t like buy (bumble and bumble is pricey & awesome), and have really talented artists style your hair. It’s a win if you want to get out of the box, and be around beauty for the day.

Goorin Brothers is opening in Las Vegas

April 1, 2014

I am so excited to announce that Las Vegas is getting a Goorin Brothers – my favorite hat store. It can be hard to find a hat that fits, mostly because many hats are one size fits most all. Not Goorin Brothers, their hats come in sizes S-XL. Apart from all the beanies I own, all my other hats are Goorin Brothers. You can find Goorin Brothers hats at Nordstrom, Zappos and other boutiques but there is nothing like trying on hats at a hat store. There are endless options to try on and at Goorin Brothers, along with different sizes too! Before Goorin Brothers, I’d never been able to find a hat that fits so perfectly (apparently I have a small head). Needless to say I am a big fan. Professionally speaking, hats are one of my go to accessories when styling. I find that hats are a great last minute piece to bring together an outfit. They also do a wonderful job masking bad hair days. Fedoras are my favorite hat style… what’s yours? To find out visit a Goorin Brothers!

Downtown Las Vegas Restaurants & Bars

March 5, 2013

I was recently on a photo-shoot (in Seattle) and one person in the crew was heading up to Vegas the following weekend & wanted to know all the places to hangout down-town. My best-friend who lives in the heart of down-town Las Vegas e-mailed me over this list. Though it was too good, not to share.

Le Thai – Fremont between LV Blvd. & 6th
-Awesome Thai food.

Kabob Korner – Fremont between LV Blvd. & 6th
-This is not a sit down restaurant. You order at the counter and there are tables inside. It looks sketchy, but the food is awesome. Good if you just want something kind of quick.

Uncle Joe’s Pizza – Fremont between LV Blvd. & 6th
-Same as Kabob Korner. It’s not a sit down, but pizza is amazing and it’s good for quick food. Cash ONLY.

The Beat (inside Emergency Arts) – Fremont & 6th
-Not a sit down restaurant, but a good lunch spot. Good sandwiches and coffees.

Sushi (can’t remember the name) inside The Plaza
-I haven’t been there, but I heard the sushi is pretty good.

Hash House A Go Go inside the Plaza
-Comfort food. Huge portions. Great for breakfast.

DuPar’s inside Golden Gate
-Diner style. Pancakes are amazing. Lunch and desserts are good too, but I like it best for breakfast.

Brewery inside Main Street Station
-Good sandwiches, burgers, and surprisingly good sushi.

Triple George – Stewart & 3rd
-Steaks, seafood, salads, burgers. There’s a bar next to it called Side Bar that serves food from Triple George’s kitchen.

A little pricey, but good:

Vic & Anthony’s inside Golden Nugget
-Steak house

The Flame inside El Cortez
-Steak house

Oscar’s inside The Plaza
-It’s in the dome overlooking Fremont, so it’s a really cool view at night. Appetizers at the bar are also a less expensive way to go. Overall, I though it was a great value for a steak house.

Fremont between LV Blvd. & 6th

-The Griffin – dive bar-style
Downtown Cocktail Room (entrance off LV Blvd.) – classic cocktails
Insert Coin – has all classic video games to play while you drink, very low-key
-There’s another bar that right next to Insert Coins that’s really fun too, but I can’t remember the name.

If you want to take a short (less than a mile probably) cab ride:

Bar + Bistro – Charleston & Casino Center
-Good food and cool separate bar area. Tapas style appetizers, salads, sandwiches, fish dishes.

Artifice – Charleston & Casino Center (across from Bar + Bistro)
-laid-back bar w/cool art

Casa Don Juan – Charleston & Main
-Awesome Mexican food.

Lola’s – Charleston & Holsom (I think that’s the side street)
-New Orleans/southern food

Las Vegas Hair Extensions

March 19, 2012

Ever thought about getting hair extensions? Want to know more? I took the the plunge and got Great Lengths hair extensions in Las Vegas. Great lengths are real human hair bonded to your natural hair. Since they are attached to your head, you can wash, curl, blow-dry your hair as normal. The only difference is you get to use a special hair brush. To my knowledge Great Lengths are some of the best hair around and look really natural, in fact no one can tell I have them in since they are such a perfect color match to my hair.

My hair comes to bust line

This picture is the most recent of my super long mermaid hair. I decided to get extensions because I wanted super crazy long hair…now, and more importantly because I trust my hair stylist who does them. Her name is Julia Latella and she is at Diva Studio (702)933-3482. Julia said I would love them and she is right. The funny thing is my husband loves them even more that I do. Who knew super long hair could be so sexy? I hate having maintenance, and the only maintenance great lengths extensions have are getting them replaced every 4-5 months. They are costly but so worth it. Here are some celebs rock-in Great Length extensions

Yes, even JLo has hair extensions

If you are thinking about getting them done you will have to have a consultation, and if you don’t get a consultation before hand I would find a different stylist. The stylist will need to determine how long you want them along with a perfect color match and how much hair you will actually need. If you live in Las Vegas or visiting sometime soon and are thinking about extensions….Julia is the best. To ask her questions directly, see her work along with before and after pictures, click here

Julia is the best, which means you have to book ahead because she is always booked. Consultations are free and I figure should only take about 5-10 minutes max. What I love most about my extensions is while I have fake super long hair like Miley Cryus , my hair continues to grow so soon I won’t need them!!!

Label my Life

November 1, 2011

Do you ever feel over-whelmed with all the stuff in your life? Kids, laundry, mail, paper-work, e-mails, work. When faced between work and life, work seems to always win. Leaving my life at home a bit of a cluttered mess (well my definition of messy). So frustrated by my piles of stuff and my daughters toys taking over every single room in the house I decided it was time to seek help…..from an organizer. My husband has this rule: always hire a professional it will save you time and money in the long run. So in my house we tend to hire a lot of professionals. After years of always trying to find a cheaper way out, I have learned he is right on this one, along with “you get what you pay for”.

So looked on the internet and found Renee Ursem from Get It Together LLC. Renee came over gave me her rates (started at $65-$75 hr) and took a look at what my issues were. Basically I had too many homes for all my work stuff (instead of just one), and I needed to help put my daughter toys away with her verses just let her throw them any where and everywhere. (I asked that she bring the label maker, yes I am one those types that wanted everything labeled). I don’t think organizing is hard (I mean, my closet is picture perfect) but would never make the time to organize anything else. My mini home based office took around 4hours to organize, and WOW what a difference. A month later it still looks, perfect. So the lesson here is, if you can’t ( or know yourself well enough to know you won’t) do it yourself find a professional that can.

Couture for Causes in Las Vegas

March 19, 2011

Attention Las Vegas locals.., this is a flea market that you have never seen before, well unless you attended this event last year. Bree & Jason Goldwater created ‘Couture for Causes’ back in 2008 to show that anyone and everyone can be a philanthropist. Bree and Jason open there home for a full day event filled with entertainment (this year Nevada Ballet, and the cast from Le Reve will perform), food, alcohol, and most importantly SHOPPING.

This year Modern Image ( has taken over the wardrobe aspect of this event along with tons of rad volunteers (Erica, Amy, Deana & Alison). Bree has had lots of generous individuals donate beautiful couture clothing (Prada, St. John, Christian Dior, Miu Miu, Donna Karan, Chole, Stella McCartney, etc.). Plus there are racks and racks of great designer stuff. Anything from Natori slips, Elle Tahari blouses, Theory skirts, Neiman Marcus suits, Free People sweathers, Paul & Joe pants, DVF dresses, trousers, shorts, and the list goes on and on.
