I was recently on a photo-shoot (in Seattle) and one person in the crew was heading up to Vegas the following weekend & wanted to know all the places to hangout down-town. My best-friend who lives in the heart of down-town Las Vegas e-mailed me over this list. Though it was too good, not to share.
Le Thai – Fremont between LV Blvd. & 6th
-Awesome Thai food.
Kabob Korner – Fremont between LV Blvd. & 6th
-This is not a sit down restaurant. You order at the counter and there are tables inside. It looks sketchy, but the food is awesome. Good if you just want something kind of quick.
Uncle Joe’s Pizza – Fremont between LV Blvd. & 6th
-Same as Kabob Korner. It’s not a sit down, but pizza is amazing and it’s good for quick food. Cash ONLY.
Sushi (can’t remember the name) inside The Plaza
-I haven’t been there, but I heard the sushi is pretty good.
Hash House A Go Go inside the Plaza
-Comfort food. Huge portions. Great for breakfast.
DuPar’s inside Golden Gate
-Diner style. Pancakes are amazing. Lunch and desserts are good too, but I like it best for breakfast.
Brewery inside Main Street Station
-Good sandwiches, burgers, and surprisingly good sushi.
Triple George – Stewart & 3rd
-Steaks, seafood, salads, burgers. There’s a bar next to it called Side Bar that serves food from Triple George’s kitchen.
A little pricey, but good:
Vic & Anthony’s inside Golden Nugget
The Flame inside El Cortez
Oscar’s inside The Plaza
-It’s in the dome overlooking Fremont, so it’s a really cool view at night. Appetizers at the bar are also a less expensive way to go. Overall, I though it was a great value for a steak house.
Fremont between LV Blvd. & 6th
-The Griffin – dive bar-style
–Downtown Cocktail Room (entrance off LV Blvd.) – classic cocktails
–Insert Coin – has all classic video games to play while you drink, very low-key
-There’s another bar that right next to Insert Coins that’s really fun too, but I can’t remember the name.
If you want to take a short (less than a mile probably) cab ride:
Bar + Bistro – Charleston & Casino Center
-Good food and cool separate bar area. Tapas style appetizers, salads, sandwiches, fish dishes.
Artifice – Charleston & Casino Center (across from Bar + Bistro)
-laid-back bar w/cool art
Casa Don Juan – Charleston & Main
-Awesome Mexican food.
Lola’s – Charleston & Holsom (I think that’s the side street)
-New Orleans/southern food
